About OTAC Connect
Connecting the people behind better home adaptations
Good adaptations depend on more than the right product. They depend on occupational therapists, contractors and suppliers being able to find one another and work well together.
OTAC Connect brings those people, along with relevant products and solutions, into one searchable UK directory. OTs can recommend contractors they have worked with, contractors can claim and build their profiles, and suppliers can make their expertise easier to discover.
Joining the directory is currently free for the OTAC community. New members can register using a community access code shared through the OTAC network.
Recommended contractors and partners may also be invited to explore Collective Purchasing for practical help with product buying. This is separate from how listings are recognised in the directory.
OTAC Connect works in partnership with OTAC and Promoting Independence Limited.
Free membership
OTAC Connect directory membership is currently free for the OTAC community. New accounts need the community access code. People who already have an account sign in as usual. OTs can search and recommend contractors; listed businesses can claim and update their profiles subject to review. Some benefits, including Collective Purchasing, require a separate application and approval. We’ll explain any future paid options before they apply.
Short FAQ
- Is it free to join?
- Directory membership is currently free for the OTAC community. New accounts need the community access code shared through that network. People who already have an account sign in as usual. Access to specific benefits may require a separate application.
- Does an OT nomination mean a contractor is certified?
- No. A nomination records an OT's recommendation. It is not an independent guarantee of competence or workmanship.
- Can I nominate more than one contractor?
- Yes. Submit a separate nomination for each business.
- How does a contractor update a listing?
- A contractor can request to claim the listing. Once the claim is approved, the account owner can update the profile subject to the site's moderation rules.
- How does Collective Purchasing work?
- It is a quiet way of giving something back. Many contractors cannot get good manufacturer pricing on their own volume. For recommended contractors and partners, Collective Purchasing can help with preferred pricing by bringing that buying together. Occupational therapists are not asked to purchase anything; the directory is there so their recommendations are easier to find. An invitation, if there is one, stays private to an approved listing owner.
